HOW YOU CAN BECOME A MEMBER

(as noted in The Rainy River Cattlemen's Association Constitution)

a)      Any person or corporate member residing in the Rainy River District interested in the cattle industry and who has paid the prescribed fee, may become a participating member of the Association.

b)      Each participating member shall pay an annual membership fee before the end of the preceding fiscal year.  The amount shall be determined by the Board of Directors.  The membership fee may be automatically deducted once a year from consignors to the Association Sale(s), who qualify as participating members.

c)      Any person living the Rainy River District who has met all the Beef Farmers of Ontario requirements may vote on Beef Farmers of Ontario matters at a general or annual meeting of the Rainy River Cattlemen’s Association, after presenting proof of meeting Beef Farmers of Ontario requirements.

d)     A class of members known as Associate members shall be designated.  All life members not qualifying as participating members will be Associate members.

e)      A participating member or associate member shall be entitled to participate in the activities of the Association as shall be defined by the Board of Directors each year, but only participating members may vote or hold office in the Association.  In addition, only those who were participating members during the previous year are entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting.

f)       The roll of membership, showing name and address of the members, shall be kept by the Secretary.  Each member shall notify the secretary, in writing, of any change of address.

g)      The Association, may, upon a resolution of the Board of Directors, expel any member thereof for cause, provided such member shall have been given notice of the intended expulsion, for a hearing.
